NYAA, INC. EVENT SPONSORSHIP GUIDELINES

 

A primary purpose of NYAA, Inc. is the promotion and sponsorship of atlatl events.  Sponsorship includes liability protection for the host(s) or group hosting the event, and for all participants.  NYAA, Inc. sponsorship also includes insurance coverage.  The policy for NYAA, Inc. sponsorship as established and approved by the Board of Directors of NYAA, Inc. is:

1)        The individual host(s) or group must be a member of NYAA, Inc. to request sponsorship.

2)         In requesting NYAA, Inc. sponsorship of an event, the individual host(s) or group must;

 file a request with the NYAA, Inc. Secretary/Treasurer at least thirty (30) days prior to the event providing all information
            concerning date(s), time(s), location, forms of competition, and contact person.
-          file a copy of the scores and a write-up of the event with the NYAA, Inc. Secretary/Treasurer, the NYAA Competition
           Chairman, and the NYAA web operator within thirty (30) days of the completion of the event.

3)         As a not-for-profit corporation, NYAA, Inc. sponsorship protects the event host(s) and individual participant(s) from personal  liability connected with atlatl competitions and activities for the duration of the event.

4)         NYAA, Inc. sponsorship also extends insurance coverage in the amounts stated in the insurance policy for the duration of the event. NYAA, Inc. will also assume payment of a $250 deductible expense.

5)         Due to the limitations of insurance coverage, NYAA, Inc. may be restricted to the insuring of events held within New York State.  However, NYAA, Inc. insurance may be extended to events held outside New York State with approval of the insurance carrier.

6)         NYAA, Inc. will advertise the event by posting it on the published calendar of NYAA, Inc. sponsored events in the NYAA, Inc. quarterly newsletter and on the NYAA, Inc. website.  The individual host(s) or group will be responsible for any local advertising of the event.

7)         NYAA, Inc. will provide advice and/or assistance, if requested, in the staging of sponsored atlatl events.

8)         NYAA, Inc. assumes no financial liability for sponsored events hosted by individuals or groups.  NYAA, Inc. may, from time to time, offer limited financial assistance to individual host(s) or groups for a specific event.

9)         NYAA, Inc. sponsored events will additionally be governed by the following World Atlatl Association, Inc. (WAA) guidelines:

 Policy on Disruptive or Unsafe Behavior
-          Guidelines for Dealing with Disruptive or Unsafe Behavior
-          WAA Safety Guidelines

10)       The individual host(s) or group must provide the following:
            -          Targets (other than those for NYAA competitions - Team Atlatl, Individuals, Hunter's Animal Round) and target backing
            -          Score sheets (other than NYAA official score sheets for NYAA competitions) and scorers
            -          One or two throwing ranges with suitable safety area(s) 

            (NYAA competition targets - long range 10 point archery targets - and official NYAA score sheets can be obtained from the
            Competition Chairman.  Official NYAA score sheets can be downloaded from the NYAA Competitions and Rules section of the
            NYAA website.)

11)      All events sponsored by NYAA, Inc. which are held after 15 April but prior to the NYAA, Inc. New York State Atlatl
           Championships must include rounds for NYAA Team Atlatl League State Qualifiers and for Individual Atlatl State Qualifiers.  Other
           NYAA competitions (Distance Throw State Qualifier and Hunter's Animal Round State Qualifiers, and any NYAA exhibition
           competitions) are at the option of the host(s) or group.     

12)      NYAA, Inc. reserves the right to refuse or rescind sponsorship of an event by a quorum vote of the Board of Directors if violations of
            the sponsorship guidelines occur.
