renegade atlatl is a group of atlatl enthusiasts headquartered in New York State and is a charter Affiliate Member Group of the New York Atlatl Association, Inc.  The group was organized in 2005 and has its ‘home’ at “The Vigil” located in West Almond, Allegany County, NY.

renegade atlatl is dedicated to the promotion of the ancient throwing device of the atlatl, for both competition and hunting.  renegade atlatl annually hosts two New York Atlatl Association, Inc. sponsored competitive events, fields a renegade atlatl team in the NYAA Team Atlatl League, and conducts programs and demonstrations concerning the atlatl.

Although headquartered in New York State, renegade atlatl also has members from PA, NJ, and KY.  Membership is open to any individual who has an interest in the atlatl, as well as other primitive arts.  There are no membership dues or other fees. 

In 2007 the renegade atlatl "Primitives" placed 3rd at the NYAA New York State Team Atlatl Championships.

Keagan Gerber placed first in the 2007  New York State Individuals Black Division, and won the 2007 New York State Hunter's Animal Round Blue Division.  Keagan also placed in the WAA Youth Division's Top Ten in 2007.

Bill Brundage placed first in the 2007 New York State Hunter's Animal Round Red Division.

For 2008 renegade atlatl has been selected by NYAA, Inc. to host the New York State Atlatl Championships.
